Component III

Component III (Human Studies) is designed to test the effects of GHB, with and without alcohol, in volunteer human subjects. The study requires one half-day screening visit, and four one-day (24 hour) admissions to a specialized hospital ward at San Francisco General Hospital. The study subjects will undergo several blood draws, heart rate and blood pressure monitoring, and they will be asked to complete questionnaires and computerized tests to measure cognitive (thinking) functions. Participants who complete the study will be paid $800. Healthy adults aged 21 and older may be eligible to participate.
